After decades of development, China's roll manufacturing industry has made great achievements, mainly in the following aspects:
First, there has been a substantial increase in output. With the rapid development of steel rolling output, the capacity of roll manufacturing and the output of rolls have also increased rapidly, which has played a positive role in meeting the demand and development of the domestic steel industry.
Second, the qualified rate of product quality has steadily improved. According to the statistical data of the first half of 2007, the comprehensive quality qualification rate of main cast iron rolls was 94.06%, an increase of 0.56% over the same period of 2006.
Thirty-three is the variety structure of the production rolls. Roll production is gradually concentrated on high-quality rolls such as plate and strip, especially the output of high-grade rolls used in the strip industry has grown most rapidly in recent years. At present, the rolls produced by Sinosteel Xingji for the modernization of strip mills have accounted for more than 70% of the production of various types of rolls.
Twenty-fourth, the export of rollers has increased significantly. In the first half of 2007, 9 units of the 31 companies that were counted exported 3,430 tons of cast iron rolls, an increase of 75% over the same period last year. In 2007, Sinosteel Xingji completed the export of various rolls to earn 40 million US dollars.
